The Synthetic & Art Silk Mills’ Research Association (SASMIRA) linked to the Ministry of Textile, Government of India established on 12th January 1950 under Registration No. 2505 of 1949-1950 granted under societies act XXI of 1860. It is a cooperative venture set up by the man-made textile industry of India after independence as a multi-functional institute to serve its scientific and technological needs. With an objective to impart quality education in the field of management, Sasmira’s Institute of Management Studies and Research (SIMSR) was started in the year 2010 under the guidance of our parent body SASMIRA. At SIMSR, we believe in delivering quality management education to create and nurture innovative managers and executives. Strategically located at the center of the business hub of Mumbai, SIMSR offers state-of-the-art infrastructure and guidance by expert faculty members which help to develop leadership skills and competencies of future leaders focusing on global requirements. SASMIRA’s Institute of Management Studies and Research (SIMSR), Mumbai (An ISO 9001:2008 certified institute ) is one of the premier institutes which has been ranked in the “A” category in the AIMA Survey of May 2013 within a short span of three years from its inception. About International Journal of Management Development and Training

SASMIRA’s Institute of Management Studies and Research has launched its annual peer reviewed journal ‘International Journal of Management Development and Training’ bearing ISSN 2347 9361 in the year 2014. The broad objective of this journal is to disseminate knowledge, good practice of management and discuss the topical issues related functional management areas including marketing management, human resource management, financial management, operation management, general management, entrepreneurship development and Information Technology management. It attempts to contribute to a better understanding of management theories and the context, resources, structures, systems, processes, and performance of organizations. Its focus is on applied research and reflections relevant to practicing managers and academicians.

The Journal maintains a rigorous policy of publishing quality and original research work. It includes research papers, articles, book reviews and case studies of academicians, researchers, government officials and corporate executives who have contributed in the field of management education with their innovative ideas and fresh conceptual framework. It attempts to bring together the contributions of SASMIRA’s stakeholders including our students, faculty members, academic staff members and every individual related directly or indirectly to SASMIRA’s vision of developing and sharing knowledge. It offers an opportunity for individuals to share their scholarly work, learning experiences, practical exposures, Ph.D. related work, case reviews and book reviews, and any other know-how, capturing their inner expressions.

The Journal includes the research papers that focus on the analysis and resolution of managerial and academic issues based on analytical, empirical or case research. Management cases which describes a real life situation faced and a decision or action taken by an individual manger or by an organization at the strategic, functional or operational levels. Further, it also includes a book review which covers reviews of current books on management.

Guidelines for Authors

The International Journal of Management Development and Training is a peer‐reviewed journal. The authors are invited to submit their original research papers, theoretical articles, book reviews and case studies with academic depth. Submitted research work should make clear relevance to business management practices and academic significance. We also welcome joint papers by academics and practitioners. Papers based on the theoretical or empirical research or experience should illustrate the practical applicability and/or policy implications of the work described.

The author/s should send a soft copy of the manuscript in MS Word to Sasmira’s Research Department at rupalimore@simsr.edu.in. The manuscript should be accompanied by an abstract of 300 to 500 words, three to five key words and a brief biographical sketch (around 100 words ) of the author/s describing current designation and affiliation, specialization, number of books and articles published in refereed journals and membership on editorial boards and companies, etc.

Submitted papers will undergo a double-blind review process and will be evaluated by at least by two reviewers and issue editor. Final acceptance is contingent on the review team’s judgments of the paper’s contribution on three key dimensions namely theoretical contribution, empirical contribution and practical contribution. Decision of the editorial committee will be communicated to the author within one month from the receipt of the research paper /article.

Guidelines for submission of Manuscripts

  1. Abstract:Authors are required to send abstract of their papers not exceeding 250-300 words and should precede the text of a paper. Abstract must include purpose, design/methodology/approach (mandatory), findings (mandatory), research limitations/ implications (if applicable), practical implications (if applicable), originality/value (mandatory)
  2. Keywords:Each paper should include three to five keywords on its title page
  3. Size:Recommended length of the article up 3,000 to 5,000 words excluding references and abstract.
  4. Format, Length & Style: Paper Title: Capital letter with 14pt font size and Times New Roman Font. The manuscript should be submitted in MS Word document, using Times New Roman font, with 1.5 spacing and 12pt font size for full text, all main and subheadings. Heading and sub- heading in bold. Use 10 font size for footnotes.
  5. Manuscript should be complied in the following order:Title page, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Review of Literature, Research Methodology, Data Interpretation/Analysis, Results, Conclusion, Acknowledgement (if any) and References.
  6. Details of Author:A brief biographical sketch not exceeding 100 words of the author/s describing current designation and affiliation, specialization, number of books and articles published in refereed journals and membership on editorial boards and companies, address/ affiliations, telephone/fax number and email addresses on the cover page of the manuscripts.
  7. Undertaking:The author should mention the undertaking that the manuscript has not been published elsewhere or considered for publication by any other journal. Research article should also accompany another undertaking that the article is the original work of the author(s).
  8. Tables and Figures:All tables, charts and graphs should be in black not in colour. Tables must be concise and cited consecutively using Arabic numerals in the text (Table 1, Table 2 etc.). The title of the table should clearly indicate the nature of the contents and sufficient detail should be included in the footnote to facilitate interpretation without reference to the text. All figures must be referred to in the text and numbered with Arabic numerals in the sequence in which they are cited (Figure 1, Figure 2 etc.). Each figure must be accompanied by a legend explaining in detail the contents of the figure. Graphs and bar graphs should preferably be prepared using Microsoft Excel and submitted as Excel graph pasted in Word. Alternatively photographs can be submitted as JPEG, GIF or TIFF files. Tables, illustration, charts, figures etc. should be dually acknowledge. Source of the data need to be given below each table and figure. Keys to symbols, abbreviations, numbers or letters used in the illustrations should not be written on the illustration itself but should be clearly explained in the legend. All Tables and Figures captions and legends should be typed on a separate page. Endnotes, italics, and quotation marks should be kept to the minimum. The choice of cover art illustration will be made by the Editor.
  9. References:Only those references that are actually utilized should be included in the reference list and should be alphabetically arranged. Authors are expected to adhere to standards of correct academic writing. References should be complete in all respects, with authors, surnames arranged alphabetically, following conventional citation styles.   10. Copyright:Wherever copyrighted material is used, the authors should be accurate in reproduction and obtain permission from copyright holders, if necessary. Research work published in any other journals should not be reproduced or reprinted in any form, either in full or in part, without prior written permission from the Editor/Journal authorities.
  11. Review Process:Two or more review board members will review all the contributions by following the double blind system. The review process usually takes about two to three months. Sasmira reserves the right to make editorial amendments to the final draft of the manuscripts to suit the journal requirements.
  12. Proofs:Communication regarding editorial changes and proofs for correction will be sent to the first author unless otherwise indicated.

Once the research paper is accepted for publication, the author has to submit the undertaking and follow the registration process.
