Dr. Suresh U. Chandnani is a Professor of Practice at Sasmira’s Institute of Management
Studies & Research, Mumbai (SIMSR). He holds a doctorate degree from S.P. Jain Institute
of Management Studies & Research, Mumbai (SPJIMR) in the area of Financial Economics,
following his Masters in Management Studies also from SPJIMR and a Master of Science
degree from Jai Hind College, Mumbai University.
Dr. Suresh has over two decades of corporate experience across leading organisations namely
Procter & Gamble India Limited, HDFC Limited, and ICICI Bank Limited. His professional
expertise lies in the Retail Assets Banking domain, with deep exposure to Mortgages, SME,
Rural Agri, and Micro-banking. Over the years, he has headed several functions including
Policy & Risk, Product, Process, Internal Controls, and Training. He has also worked in the
consulting space, focusing on setting up and re-engineering business processes.
With more than nine years of experience as a visiting faculty, Dr. Suresh has been actively
engaged in management education. An avid researcher, he has presented his research work at
numerous national and international conferences. Notably, his paper was awarded Best
Research Paper at the International Conference on Challenges in Emerging Economies
organised by KJ Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & Research. He has also
published in a peer-reviewed, Scopus-listed and ABDC-ranked journal.
At present, Dr. Suresh is responsible for setting up the Management Development Program
(MDP) initiatives at SIMSR, alongside his teaching responsibilities.
